Ban Mekkala is a brand new home that has been designed to exentuate comfortable and convenient living in a tropical environment. From the exterior, the imposing walls lend little to the fact that this is truly a contemporary house that has combined its location and spacious design with the luxuries of modern technology and quality furnishings to create a hideaway for those seeking a relaxing retreat, or fun getaway.

Upon entering the villa compound, you are enticed into the residence over a peaceful stepped pond filled with Coy fish and the stunning view of a glistening ocean in the distance. The main entrance to the villa leads directly into the cavernous interior of the combined living/dining/kitchen. This grand room situated on the second level of the main house creates a laid-back feel through the use of space, open-plan design and the stunning view that can be enjoyed from all angles by the complementary use of full length windows running the buildings expanse. Contained within this area is the home’s enormous gourmet kitchen, twelve seat dining table fit for a feast, and the living/entertainment area furnished with modern Thai decor and one of this property’s major treats; a state-of-the-art audio/visual system equipped with plasma TV and surround sound technology that is linked to every part of the house (inside and out) so your favourite tunes can be enjoyed from wherever you are!

You leave this area through a large covered balcony and move down to the ground level via a staircase overlooking a waterfall feature that flows into an internal courtyard below. This level contains the 6 bedrooms consisting of 3 different styles (2 bedrooms per design). All bedrooms are in a double bedding configuration (king size beds), feature en-suite bathrooms with large walk-in showers and bath tubs, and TV/DVD players with individual satellite TV units. The ground floor of the main building houses bedrooms 5 & 6 and also a steam room. Moving down the garden there are four more individual bedroom pavilions. Bedrooms 3 & 4 are the first two on either side of the central expanse of grass and feature an additional outdoor shower in their own private courtyard. Bedrooms 1 & 2 are the Master Bedrooms and the largest of all with the added benefit of their own personal surround sound stereos that can be isolated from the system in the main house.

At this far end of the property, the golden sands of the quiet beach of Laem Sor are beckoning. This is complemented by the home’s large swimming pool that sits just above the beach and features unique inlaid sun benches, an outdoor dining pavilion as well as a barbecue kitchen for those balmy Samui evenings.

Location

On the southern coast of Koh Samui some 35 minutes from the Airport and 15 minutes from the town of Lamai. In the Summer low tide season when the reef is dry for up to 100m, this opens the beach and reef up to all sorts of other activities such as beach volleyball, football or simply exploring the rock pools and collecting shellfish, a safe and ideal exciting activity for children.

Villa rates

• Daily rates from US$ 1,200 to 1,700 for the entire house or US$ 1,000 to 1,100 for 4 bedrooms (in intermediate and high seasons only)
• Daily rates include a full time Thai Chef (food cost on Guests account)
• Minimum stay of 3 nights (14 nights over Christmas and New Year, 5 nights for High and Prime seasons)
• Rates shown are for a maximum of 12 (twelve) Guests (including children). Extra bed will be charged at US$50 per night
• Daily Rates and extra beds are subject to 10% service charge and 7% tax
• Airport transfer: US$ 40 (plus tax) per trip for a maximum of 7 passengers in private mini bus or luxury car
• Baby cot provided free of charge

• For weddings and private parties, surcharge may be applicable depending on number of guests
